Summary :
This article relates the genesis of the new Belgian provisions transposing Articles 17 and 18 of Directive 2019/790 in that they established a non-transferable right to direct remuneration for authors and artists vis-à-vis digital platforms. It examines their legal basis in Belgian and European law, also drawing on existing precedents, particularly in comparative law.
