This contribution looks at the evolution of UK copyright over the last seven years. It does that using a number of cases as hooks. One sees ongoing debates covering originality and the concept of a work, but also new definitions such as parody and pastiche. Via copyright in characters and the de minimis provision the unavoidable topic of Brexit sneaks in. But for now, the courts are extremely hesitant to depart from EU copyright law. Instead we get a nice summary of what communication to the public and targeting means (...)
