1. Firms engaged in the business of monitoring, selecting, processing and analysing news information on a particular company, entity, matter or activity published in the written, audio, visual or audiovisual communication media have been enjoying significant growth recently in Spain. Typically, the activities of such firms focus on the written media (daily newspapers, weekly newspapers, periodicals, etc.) but this does not necessarily have to be the case 1. The Anglo-Saxon term “press clipping” – or alternatively press cutting – is the name now widely used to refer to this activity when it concerns the written communication media.
